Get Involved!
Please get involved by joining one of our committees! The Club has six primary committees: Membership, Schools, Social, Jefferson Scholar, and Web Design. Please click on the committee name on the left for a description of the committee and information on how to get involved.
Membership: The Membership Committee oversees the annual membership drive, solicits dues, and maintains the Club database of local alumni.

Schools:
The Schools Committee is the link between the University and area high schools. Its functions include the following:
- Represents the University at college fairs
- Coordinates Club participation in the annual Admissions Information Session where local high school students and their parents learn about UVA from a panel of alumni and a representative from the Admissions Office
- Makes congratulatory calls to newly accepted students
- Hosts a reception for newly accepted students and their parents to answer questions and generate excitement about UVA
- Presents Jefferson Book Awards to students at awards assemblies at several local schools
- Organizes a student send-off party in August

Social:
The Social Committee organizes and plans social events throughout the year such as the annual Holiday Party, gatherings to watch UVA sporting events, and cultural events. As we build the Club, we look forward to adding new and exciting events.

Jefferson Scholars:
Each year, the Middle Tennessee region nominates a local student to compete for a Jefferson Scholarship during the National Selection Weekend at the University. To select the regional nominee, candidates are solicited from several local high schools and interviewed locally. The Jefferson Scholar committee coordinates alumni to serve as greeters for the candidates on interview day. Greeters escort the students to and from the interview, talk to the students before their interviews, and answer questions about UVA.

Website & Newsletter: Communicating with our club members and other friends of the University in Middle Tennessee is largely accomplished through our website! We also communicate by periodically publishing the Club Newsletter. If you'd like to help contribute stories, photos, or even work on the technical side of the site, let us know!
